Recipe: Cerea-yums™

This is my patented, delicious recipe for Cerea-yums™, a low-cost, low-fat alternative to a yogurt parfait. It is perfect for breakfast, an afternoon snack, dessert... I eat it all the time!  I'm pretty much addicted!  It tastes great and because the ingredients are healthy, you don't have to worry about the guilt you feel after eating a yogurt parfait from the store that uses sweetened yogurt, sugary fruit, and fatty granola, plus it's so cheap!

Emily's famous Cerea-yums™

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fat-free, plain yogurt (not sweetened! trust me, you don't need any extra sugar here!)
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, unsweetened (no need to thaw, they're better straight from the freezer)
  • 1/4 cup cereal (I recommend Raisin Bran Crunch, but have been known to substitute Corn Flakes in emergencies)
Optional:
  • 1 tsp honey (only for "dessert" eatings...usually)

Gloop your yogurt in the bottom of your bowl.  Top with frozen blueberries. Drizzle with honey (optional). Top with cereal.  Enjoy!

Total calories (with honey): about 250 per serving.
Total fat (with honey): about 1g

It's sweet, creamy, and crunchy.  Who could ask for a better breakfast than that?!

  1. I have experienced Cerea-yums first hand and I must say it is a great alternative to a bag of chips or a bowl of ice cream. It is filling and delicious.
