I used a linoleum block and a lino cut set from my brother and carved out this stamp in an evening. I've been using acrylic paint with fabric medium in it to do the stamping. I mix it up and then sponge it on the stamp. Then I lay the fabric on top of the stamp and burnish it lightly with the back of a big spoon. Then I peel off the fabric and let it dry.
I think that plain cotton worked the best for transferring the image, but I made several in t-shirt knit so that the edges won't fray when I sew them in my projects.

ReplyDeletei actually had a bit of trouble with carving the linoleum.. i think linoleum might have been a bit old, so it was too hard to carve it easily.. so, i ended up painting 'mokosha' on my labels, using tiny brush.. but as soon as i get some better linoleum i gonna try this out again.. and gonna let you know how it turned out :)
